*** In recognition of April’s designation as Child Abuse Awareness Month, a novena will be prayed throughout the Diocese of Santa Rosa. The novena will begin on April 19th and continue for 9 consecutive nights. Each of the nine nights will be led by a different priest of the diocese. Please check your parish bulletin, website, or Facebook page as well as the diocesan website for additional information on how you can participate.
Sexual misconduct is contrary to the fundamental dignity of each and every human person, to the values of the Gospel, and to the teachings of the Church. Yet, as an assembly of believers who are sinners, we who form the Church are not immune from the pervasive societal reality of sexual abuse.
The sexual abuse of minors by clergy has caused intense distress, concern, confusion and disillusionment. Sexual abuse by clergy or other personnel of the diocese is wrong and is not tolerated.
The Diocese of Santa Rosa is responsible to see that everyone under its care, especially children and youth, are safe and in no danger from being victimized by sexual misconduct.
If you or someone you know has been harmed by sexual misconduct by clergy or other Church personnel or if you have reason to believe such abuse is currently occurring, we urge you to contact us so we can help.
