Invitation to the Mass of the Chrism

The Mass of the Chrism is celebrated once a year to bless the Sacred Chrism, the Oil
of Catechumens and the Oil of the Sick. This Mass is one of the principal expressions
of the fullness of the ministerial priesthood exercised by the bishop. It also honors the
bond of unity our priests share with our bishop, participating in the one priesthood of
Jesus Christ. Poignantly, during this Mass, our priests will renew their commitment of
priestly service in the presence of the bishop and the assembly.
