As we prepare for the Rite of Election and the great season of Lent soon, here are several resources for you:
1.) DIOCESAN DRAWING CONTEST IN HONOR OF OUR LADY: Please find attached the flyer, rules and submission form for the diocesan drawing contest that is open to schools and parish religious education programs. We hope that our students have fun with this opportunity to let their love and light shine for Jesus' Mother!

2.) RADIATE LOVE INITIATIVE: The bishops of the 12 dioceses of California are launching a resource for their Radiate Love initiative on World Marriage Day, Sunday, February 11. This effort is being coordinated primarily through diocesan offices of Marriage and Family Life and Communications, and the bishops have asked the California Catholic Conference to reach out to other offices that may have a role in the successful implementation of this initiative. For us in faith formation, this is important remote, proximate and even immediate preparation of those entrusted in our care who are called to marriage and family: https://cacatholic.org/radiatelove/
3.) DIOCESAN VOCATIONS POSTER: Also attached is a diocesan vocations poster from Fr. John Plass, Promoter of Vocations, that can be posted around classrooms and other fitting places so that young people and parishioners can see those who are studying for the priesthood. This will help encourage prayer and encouragement among our youth to consider entering the seminary.
4.) FIRED UP CONFIRMATION CONFERENCE 2024: Here is an opportunity for Confirmation candidates to grow deeper in their Faith on March 9, 2024: https://www.confirmationconference.com/
5.) SAFE ENVIRONMENT WORKSHOP ON FEB. 26: Please join Fatima and me at an evening formation workshop on Safe Environment at St. Rose's Church in Santa Rosa on Monday, Feb. 26. The English presentation will be from 7-8pm, and the Spanish presentation will be from 8-9pm. All DREs and other parish catechetical leaders and new team members are invited to attend. Safe Environment clearance is required for diocesan certification and serving in religious education.
6.) SAVE THE DATE: This year's Santa Rosa Religious Education Congress (Year 3 of 3 of the National Eucharistic Revival) will be held on Sept. 20-21, 2024, at Cardinal Newman High School. Up to a total of 10 credit hours can be applied towards earning or renewing the California catechetical certificate. Hope to see you, your catechists and your parishioners there! Since our annual diocesan conference has been focusing on the National Eucharistic Revival, here is a related resource as we come to the third of three years of the National Eucharistic Revival: https://www.eucharisticrevival.org/
7.) FAMILY SUPPORT NETWORK: Dr. Adrian Peterson is offering workshops for Catholic school administrators. Parish catechetical leaders are invited to attend as well. More information can be obtained from the Department of Catholic Schools.
THANK YOU: Thank you for all of your apostolates forming God's people in love!
